Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)
Working knowledgeCore AI Concepts
Also called: AGI
Artificial general intelligence (AGI) is a hypothetical AI capable of understanding or learning any intellectual task that a human being can, aiming to match the cognitive range of a person rather than perform one narrow task well. It does not currently exist.
In practice
AGI is a reason to watch the market, not a line in a business case. Everything a vendor can sell today is narrow AI, whatever the marketing calls it, and should be judged on the specific task it performs. Treat AGI timelines as commentary rather than procurement input.
