AI Governance
AI governance is the set of frameworks, policies, controls and oversight mechanisms an organisation puts in place to manage risk, ensure compliance and maintain accountability across its use of artificial intelligence. It covers how models are developed, where data comes from, how systems are deployed and how they are monitored once live. Effective governance ties those decisions to the organisation's own risk tolerance as well as to legal mandates and international regulatory standards.
In practice
Governance is a diligence artefact, not a policy document. When reviewing a target's compliance and liability profile, ask who signs off a model going live, what the register of deployed models contains, and who reviewed the most recent one. No answer is a liability finding, not an administrative gap.
