Digital Twin

Working knowledgeApplications and Capabilities

A digital twin is a virtual representation of a physical asset, facility, product or operational system, kept current by real-time sensor streams and AI predictive models. By continuously simulating how the physical original behaves, industrial operators use twins to model operational changes before making them, predict maintenance failures, optimise supply chains and cut the cost of real-world testing.

In practice

Digital twins are deployed in industrial manufacturing, aerospace and commercial real estate, and they repay the investment wherever physical testing is slow or expensive. The prerequisite is sensor coverage and data quality: a twin fed by patchy telemetry produces confident predictions about a machine that does not exist. Audit the instrumentation before funding the model.
